Why you enjoy working in the crèche:

I love meeting new kids and families. Brings out the inner child in me when playing fun games with the kids.

Experience:

I am an ex professional footballer for the Matilda's (Australian National side) and played in that side for over ten years. That opportunity gave me the chance to travel the world and see some amazing places

Hobbies:

I love spending time with friends and family along with playing sport.

A little bit more about our Creche Attendant, Madi

Qualifications:

• First Aid
• Working with Children Check
• Currently studying Human Biology

Why you enjoy working in the crèche:

I love working in the creche as I love meeting the kids and their families. I love to see the kids grow and develop and spend quality time with them.

Experience in childcare:

I have been a swimming instructor since 2021, taught dance since 2017 and have baby sat a range of ages since I was 14.

Hobbies:

In my spare time I teach swimming lessons, go the the beach and love to bake.

Why you enjoy working in the crèche:

I love seeing the children grow from babies to crawling, then, walking, and then go to kindy, pre-primary, junior school, then high school. I feel privileged to be just a small part of their lives. To also build friendly relationships with the mums, and to work with great teams of ladies in the creche, (both past and present), and then have the children come in to see me when they are too old to attend creche. Sometimes, the cycle begins again, with the mums having more children, and to be part of the new generation of families all over again, is lovely and sometimes quite a humbling experience.

How long have you been working in the crèche:

Over 25 years! Seen a lot of generations of families come and go, and children that are now in primary school and still come to see me in the school holidays and give me hugs, which is lovely, and seeing parents in the café area who always acknowledge me, even if their children no longer come to crèche.

Hobbies:

I love supporting the West Coast Eagles, spending time with our grandsons, catching up with friends, and enjoying an ice-cream (now and again). I like nature programs (especially when lions are in them) and comedy/love story movies, and crime programs (who did it).

A little bit more about our Creche Attendant, Judit

Qualifications:

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
• CPR
• First Aid

Experience in childcare:

I have been working at the Arena as a swimming teacher since 2016 and I have been working in childcare since 2018.

Why I love working in the creche:

I love spending time with the children because it is fun and I can teach them lots of activities, I also love working here because of all the fantastic creche staff members.

Hobbies:

In my spare time I like to paint or draw pictures, do yoga, cycle and some water activities.

A little bit more about our Creche Attendant, Gillian

Qualifications:

• BSc (Psych) Hon
• Dip Early Childhood Education and Care

Why you enjoy working in the crèche:

I enjoy the casual atmosphere and interacting with the parents and the children. The staff are friendly and all do their best for the children. It is a fun workplace. 

Hobbies:

Reading, watching old movies, walking my dog and catching up with friends and family.

A little about our Creche Attendant, Tyla

Qualifications:

• Certificate IV in Children, Families and Community (Early Childhood Education)

Experience in childcare:

• I have been working with children for as long as I can remember. I did all my high school pracs in schools or day-cares! So I would say about 15 years of working with children as an educator/manager and now in the creche.

Why I love working in the creche:

I love giving those snuggles to the kids, building relationships with their families & helping the kids learn & grow during their short stays with us.

Hobbies:

I am a mum myself to two children! they take up most of my time as my husband works away! I am a full blown dance mum to my daughter & her poor baby brother is along for the ride. I also enjoy photography which again my children have become my models but capturing moments in their life for them to look back on is what I love to do!

A little about our Crèche Attendant, Regina

Qualifications:

• Royal Society of Arts examinations in Secretarial and Business studies
• Business Administration Certificate III
• Toolbox Parenting course
• Royal Life Saving childcare first aid course

Experience in Childcare: 

• Nanny in America to two beautiful little girls for two years.
• I come from a big Irish family; I have lots of experience looking after my siblings, cousins and friends children.
• I have my own three gorgeous sons.

Why I enjoy working in the crèche:

Because the gorgeous children greet you with a big smile in the mornings, which is a lovely way to start your work day. It is without doubt one of the most rewarding jobs that I have had. Watching the children grow into their next stages of development is a joy to watch.

How long have you been working in the crèche?

I have been working in the crèche since March this year and I go to work with a smile, looking forward to each day in crèche. I feel very privileged to be trusted with other people’s children.

Hobbies:

• I love holidaying and spending quality time with my family. I love my exercise classes and a catch up for coffee afterwards with my lovely friends.
• A funny fact about me is I am in a bookclub as my friends and I call it, but we haven’t read or talked about a book in years in the club. I love to play with balloons and bubbles.

The crèche service at Arena is to be recommended because:

• You can see that the staff and children are happily engaged with each other.
• Children are very well supervised.
• The crèche is bright and clean.
• The children are encouraged to mix with each other through fun games.
• Children learn how to have fun through play. They learn how to share with other children and to take turns. When children enjoy their play time and learn from it, it then sets them up to want to continue learning in the future when they go to school. Children learn so much from play in that they have a natural curiosity and though play their curiosity is widened. 

A little about our Crèche Supervisor, Sue

Qualifications:

• Associate Diploma in childcare
• Provide First Aid in an Education and Care setting
• Fire extinguisher

Experience in childcare:

• I have a long-standing career in childcare working in the industry for many years. I have had the opportunity to work in a Director role in a couple of Day Care Centers and as a Qualified Worker.
• I have been working in the Creche for 10 years as an Attendant and Supervisory role.

Why I love working in the creche:

• I find it a very rewarding job; I enjoy watching the children develop and grow into independent individuals.
• Spending quality time with each child
• Getting to know each family.
• Working with my team members.

Hobbies:

• Enjoy spending time with family and friends.
• Going to the beach, swimming and going for walks.
• Spending time with my dog.
• Travelling and watching the sunrise and sunsets
